An operations dashboard used by dispatchers to plan routes, track 1,200+ vehicles in real time and manage driver shifts. Built for a logistics company outgrowing spreadsheets and whiteboards.
The Challenge
Dispatchers were juggling four tools and a phone tree. Live vehicle positions arrived over 30 websockets per dispatcher terminal, and the old map UI froze at 500 tracked points.
The Solution
I built a Next.js backend with a WebSocket broadcast layer and a React map front-end that virtualizes vehicle markers, batching telemetry into 5-second windows. Route planning moved from 25 minutes per shift to under 6.
